The Open World Energy Security and Market Stability Program fosters collaboration between U.S. lawmakers and international energy leaders to explore best practices in energy security, market stability, and adopting emerging energy sources. The delegations who came to NW Ohio from Szeged and Csongrad County, Hungary learned about the U.S. energy policy, discussed emerging trends in energy security, and explored innovative financing strategies for future energy projects. This program supported global energy cooperation while reinforcing the U.S.'s leadership in shaping a stable energy future. This delegation was introduced at the Toledo Sister Cities International Festival and celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Toledo-Szeged Sister City relations with our community at the Hungarian Club of Toledo.

 

This delegation met with professional partners in NW Ohio and in Michigan (incl. Detroit and Ann Arbor) including Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, David Wirt from Congressman Bob Latta office in Bowling Green, Lucas County Commissioners, local government leaders from Toledo,  Bowling Green, and Oregon, and experts/professors at the University of Toledo.

 

While in NW Ohio the guests stayed at host families in Perrysburg. Special thanks to the Lakis and Hilt families and Carol Labounty for welcoming the guests to their homes and families!

 

Through various activities this delegation connected with 300 Americans during their 8=day visit in NW Ohio.
